- 11/03–The Second Marking Period is quickly approaching and I am still concerned with some of the attendance problems that are showing up for some students. At issue, they are falling behind their peers, and they are not making the connection between attendance and performance. Excused absences are one thing, but unexcused absences this far into the year does not make sense to me. Grading policy will be followed regarding unexcused absences–HELP.
- 09/27–This is the last week of the first marking period. Provided our computer systems are up and running on Monday, I will have all grades updated by Monday evening.
- 09/17–I would like to thank all those parents who took time out their schedules to make it to the Wm Penn Open House. It was great to have a chance to meet with you and to let you know what goes on in our classrooms. As I reminded parents tonight, the 1st Marking Period is quickly coming to a close; grades will be closed out on October 2nd. Keep encouraging your student to work hard and to be in class every day.
- 09/15–Just a reminder, we have our Open House Thursday, September 17th. I look forward to the opportunity to meet with each of you and to share with you what we are going to accomplish this year.
- 09/10–As we near midway through the first marking period, I am becoming concerned with the number of unexcused absences that are starting to accumulate on some students. In accordance with established Grading Policies (Colonial School District Student Code of Conduct, Pg 24) all work can be made up, but only excused absences will count toward a student’s grade. Students were reminded of this durning classes this week. Please help the educational cause by encouraging minimum absences from school.
- 08/27–At this point, parents should have seen the syllabus guide for your student. The Classroom Procedures and Grading Policy are covered in that document. Also sent home was a Parent Contact Sheet showing all the means available to get in touch with me to address any concerns you may have. Please note that the Open House is scheduled for September 17th, and I look forward to meeting you at that time.
- 08/19–First day of school for 2009/10
