Mr. Abblitt’s Class Blog for 2009/10

Algebra II:

• 11/24–Grades will be updated over the break.  Of note, the test that was being finished up Monday will be the first grade of the third marking period.  A number of student did not do very well with the test; I will set up some review sessions and a date for a retake after we return from Thanksgiving.
• 11/16–A few students requested some extra time to complete some of the 2nd MP work; this will be the last opportunity available before grades are closed out for the marking period.
• 11/09–We will close out the final week of the marking period with a test on Chapter 3.  The test will be given in two parts on Thursday and Friday.  The Third MP will start off in Chapter 4 with Matrices.
• 10/28–The second marking period is well underway; we completed most of Chapter 3, and students should expect a chapter test next week.  We have the following graded items for this marking period:  CW 2-1, POD 2-1, POD 2.2, HW 2-1, CW 2-2, CW 2-3, Quiz 2-1, and POD 2-3.
• 09/27–As we approach this final week, students will have a final homework check, a classwork grade, and a Ch 2 Test to close out the marking period.
• 09/10–Based on recent assessments, I have delayed the Ch 1 Test until Monday.  We will hit our final review tomorrow.
• 09/03–We are finishing up Chapter 1 and we should have a test on the chapter by next Friday, September 11.  In general, classes seem to be going pretty well.  The Wm Penn Homework starts next Thursday; it will run every Thursday in Library I from 2:20 to 3:45.  Students must sign up with me, then they will be able to join the program.  The 4 o’clock bus will be available for transportation home.
• 08/27–By the end of the week, students will have three grades for the current marking period:  Grading Policy–signed and returned, Class Work 1-1, and Quiz 1-1 (with notes).
• 08/19–First day of school 2009/10.
